In 2008, Dr. DeRusso received her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington.

She later furthered her studies at Midwestern University, Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine and received her Doctorate in Osteopathic medicine in 2015.
